1. About Advent Impact
Advent Impact is a platform that connects churches, missionaries, ministry organizations, and their supporters. We help these communities share stories, coordinate mission trips, and receive financial support. Advent Impact is operated by the people behind the Advent Impact service (“Advent Impact,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). In these terms, “you” means the person using the service.
2. Who can use Advent Impact
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. By creating one, you confirm that you meet this age requirement and that the information you provide is accurate. If you are using Advent Impact on behalf of an organization, you confirm that you are authorized to act on its behalf and to bind it to these terms.
3. Your account
We use email-based sign-in. You are responsible for keeping your email account secure and for activity that occurs under your Advent Impact account. If you suspect unauthorized use, please contact us at info@adventimpact.org.
We may suspend or terminate access if we believe an account is being used to violate these terms, the rights of others, or applicable law.
4. Content you share
Advent Impact lets you post stories, comments, images, video, and other content (“your content”). You keep ownership of your content. By posting on Advent Impact, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, display, adapt, and distribute your content for the purpose of operating and improving the service — including showing it to the audiences you choose (followers, organizations, supporters) and across the necessary technical formats (thumbnails, transcodes, responsive sizes, email digests).
You are responsible for the content you post. You confirm that you have the rights necessary to share it and that doing so does not violate any law or third-party right (including privacy, publicity, and intellectual-property rights). Do not post content featuring identifiable minors without the permission of a parent or guardian.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to use Advent Impact to:
- break the law or encourage others to do so;
- harass, threaten, defame, or impersonate any person or organization;
- post sexually explicit content, content that exploits or endangers minors, or gratuitous violence;
- post spam, scams, malware, or repeated unsolicited fundraising appeals;
- scrape, crawl, or otherwise extract content from the service except through tools we explicitly provide;
- circumvent any security or access control, or attempt to disrupt the service or other users’ ability to use it;
- misrepresent your affiliation with any ministry, church, missionary, or organization.
We may remove content or restrict accounts that violate these rules. We may also cooperate with law enforcement when we have a good-faith belief that doing so is appropriate.
6. Organizations and ministry pages
Advent Impact hosts pages for churches, missionaries, and ministry organizations. People who manage those pages can invite others to join, post on behalf of the organization, and access supporter information that members provide. Organization admins are responsible for the conduct of their members and for the accuracy of the organization’s public information.
7. Donations and payments
Advent Impact may facilitate donations to organizations on the platform. Donations are processed by third-party payment providers, and your relationship with that provider is governed by their terms. We do not store full payment-card numbers. Donations are generally non-refundable unless required by law or by the receiving organization’s own policy.
Tax deductibility depends on the receiving organization’s tax status and on your local tax laws. Advent Impact does not provide tax advice; consult a qualified advisor.
8. Closing your account
You can delete your account at any time from your settings. When you do, we anonymize your profile: your name, email, avatar, and other identifying details are removed. Posts, comments, likes, and similar contributions you have made remain on the platform but are shown as authored by “Anonymous,” preserving the integrity of conversations and organizations you contributed to. If you would prefer that specific content be removed, delete it before deleting your account, or contact us.
9. Our content
The Advent Impact name, logo, and the service itself — including its design, code, and original written content — are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by intellectual-property laws. You may not copy or reuse them without permission, except as expressly allowed by these terms.
10. Third-party links and services
Advent Impact may link to third-party websites or integrate with third-party services (e.g. payment providers, embedded media). We are not responsible for those services or for any content, terms, or practices they have. Your use of them is at your own risk.
11. Disclaimer
Advent Impact is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fully secure, or that any content posted by other users is accurate, complete, or appropriate.
12. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Advent Impact and the people who run it will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenues, data, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim arising from these terms or your use of the service will not exceed the greater of the amounts you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose, or USD 100.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the version number above and may notify you in the product or by email. Your continued use of the service after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
14. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Advent Impact is operated, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. The specific jurisdiction and any applicable dispute-resolution process will be set out here before launch. Until then, these terms should be read as a good-faith statement of the relationship between you andAdvent Impact.
